LOOKOUT POST for observing birds, whales, dolphins, turtles and the fish that come to seek food near the surface. Equipped with instruments for meteorological studies and studies of the night sky.

LOCAL PLONGÉE

DIVING ROOM and departure point for divers living at atmospheric pressure. They can either enter the sea by a lift that takes them directly down to -12m beneath the surface, or use the retractable ladder.

LE LABORATOIRE MARIN

MARINE WET LABORATORY equipped with aquariums for studying small living organisms.

PASSERELLE DE COMMANDEMENT

NAVIGATION BRIDGE equipped with all navigation and control instruments needed for the safety of the vessel.

LE LABORATOIRE SEC PLURIDISCIPLINAIRE

MULTIDISCIPLINARY DRY LABORATORY equipped with the most sophisticated measuring instruments, providing scientists from all over the world with facilities for their ocean based research work.

ESPACE DE COMMUNICATION

COMMUNICATIONS ROOM fitted with a multimedia studio for relaying the crew’s adventure and its discoveries in real time.

MODULE PRESSURISÉ

PRESSURISED MODULE allowing aquanauts to live in saturation mode and move freely from the vessel into the sea. This is the area used for space simulation experiments.

HANGAR SOUS-MARIN

UNDERWATER HANGAR from which devices are deployed for exploration at great depths.

SAS PLONGEURS

DIVE LOCK CHAMBER through which all aquanauts have direct access to the underwater world.

TREUIL & PLATEFORME ABYSSALE

WINCH AND ABYSS PLATFORM for lowering measuring instruments, sensors and cameras to great depths (over 1000m) to observe the deep sea fauna gathered around the science basket.
